DENTON — Families filled downtown for Downtown Denton Main Street’s Pumpkin Palooza on Friday, October 30, just ahead of Halloween. Director of Downtown Denton Main Street, Jessica Willoughby, said she was “extremely happy with the turnout. I think it was an incredible event.”
The parade drew a crowd along Fifth Avenue and Market Street, while local vendors stayed busy in the lot on Third and Market streets before, during, and after the parade. Willoughby said they went through around 200 pumpkins at the pumpkin painting station set up for children in attendance.
For Willoughby, the most memorable part was seeing families enjoy the event together. “When you take a step back and you look around with all the kids and all the families together enjoying a small town community event, that was the best part,” she said. She also mentioned that the businesses in downtown Denton who remained open during the festivities were able to take advantage of the influx of people downtown and make sales. Willoughby thanked the community for attending and supporting local businesses as part of their Halloween celebrations.
And if you miss the spookiness already, Willoughby assured us at Caroline Review.News that the Pumpkin Palooza will return next year!
