Caroline County Local 2026 Election Results

Posted

Voters headed to the polls to cast their ballots in a number of local and state races, with several familiar faces and first-timers vying for elected positions. Caroline Review.News is reporting the live, unofficial results from both local and state offices as they come in. This report was updated at 10:53 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2026, with 8 of 8 election day precincts reporting.

These results reflect unofficial election-night returns and are not final. Election officials must still complete the canvassing process, including the counting and verification of eligible mail-in and provisional ballots. Final results and official winners will not be determined until that process is completed in the coming days. For the most up-to-date information, visit https://elections.maryland.gov/

Local Offices

County Commissioners

One of the most closely watched local races was the contest for three seats on the Caroline County Board of County Commissioners, where four candidates competed for the opportunity to serve the county for the next four years.

Based on current numbers, incumbents Travis Breeding and Larry Porter have secured their seats with 6,902 and 6,303 votes, respectively. It appears they will be joined by newcomer Michael Mann, who currently has 6,207 votes.  The fourth candidate, Savannah Winston, is trailing with 3,359 votes.

"I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Caroline County," Breeding said. "I am grateful for the overwhelming support I have received, and I remain committed to working hard for the citizens we represent. Thank you for the trust you have placed in me. I appreciate the support."

“I'm pleased and ready to ready to go.” Porter said. “I think we've got a lot of work to do ahead of us.”

“I would like to thank everyone for their support and their belief in me,” Mann said. “I especially would like to thank my wife Barbie and my family. I would like to thank (campaign treasurer) Dave Whaley and his wife Cindy's behind-the-scenes support, and I hope that I do not let anyone down. I hope that I can fulfill the needs of the county, and in four years, if I decide to run again, I hope that it's an easy thought process that people don't even have to think about it.”

For Caroline County Board of Education District 3, Troy Plutschak is leading with 2,019 votes, compared with 802 votes for Jean Hayhurst.
