It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa Gay Short on August 28, 2026. Lisa was a beloved mother, daughter, grandmother and friend.

Lisa was born on January 5, 1961, in Cambridge, MD, the daughter of the late Roger Short, Sr. and Lula Shorter Short of Federalsburg.

Lisa is survived by her two cherished daughters, Amy Amalfitano and her husband Anthony of Denton and Dawn Martin of Chestertown, and her devoted mother, Lula Short of Federalsburg; three grandchildren: Anthony Amalfitano, Jr, Aiden Amalfitano and Tyler Monath; two great grandchildren: Maci Monath and Mac Monath; and four siblings: Karen Graham, Tommy Short, Sr., Lora Lee Woodward and Roger Short, Jr. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister Cindy Burton.

Throughout her life, Lisa was known for her warmth, kindness, and her immense talent in the kitchen. Her love for cooking and baking brought joy to many, particularly her delectable peanut butter eggs and her famous crackers, which were a festive highlight for family gatherings and she loved to make them to share with everyone she knew.

Lisa also had a passion for collecting Longaberger baskets, a hobby that reflected her appreciation for craftsmanship and beauty. Her spirit of creativity and love for tradition left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg.
