“Congratulations on your retirement Chief McDermott,” Caroline County State’s Attorney Sloane Franklin posted on the Facebook page. “I enjoyed the time we had working together. A great loss to the Town of Federalsburg and law enforcement, but a great gain to the fellowship.”

“Chief Gasser, I look forward to working with you and the fine ladies and men of your force,” Franklin stated. “As Chief McDermott always says, "God Speed"!”
