Tucked away at 701 Lincoln Street in Denton is a store that thrives on community. The Tuckahoe Habitat for Humanity ReStore has found an amazing place to call home, and they are gearing up for a Grand Opening. The Grand Opening will be on July 16th and the store hours will be from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Giveaways, music, entertainment, local food vendors and over 6,000 square feet of sales will be open for all ages to enjoy and browse.
Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit, locally owned and operated, home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter in local communities and around the world.
Thanks hugely to the residents of Caroline and Queen Anne counties, Tuckahoe Habitat for Humanity ReStore began taking in donations and setting up a retail store, as well as a barn area. Carrying anything from furniture that may be needed to fill your first home, or even furniture to upgrade your current décor, remodeling materials such as doors, windows and cabinets, to an amazing selection of Ace Hardware inventory that was generously donated when a local branch closed, you can find everything you need right under one roof. The best part about the ReStore is that donations are picked up twice a week from the counties and brought in, so there is always something new to discover and of course, buy.
Volunteers are always needed in the ReStore and will be especially needed during the Grand Opening. Volunteer positions can include: greeting customers, writing up sales tickets, helping with parking, moving and loading furniture and items into customer vehicles, as well as to prepare for the opening with cleaning, appliance testing, and any furniture repair needed. If you or someone you know are interested in volunteering with or donating to the ReStore, please contact Brandy at 410-479-9200 to schedule a date and time.
