Plans are underway for the 7th Annual ‘Paddlefest on the Choptank’ hosted by the Caroline County Chamber of Commerce from Greensboro to Denton on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The event will take place on Saturday, August 6, 2016.
The course will be a 7.7 mile paddle down the Choptank (going WITH the current) and ending at the Choptank River Yacht Club in West Denton where the festival will begin at 11:00 a.m. You can enjoy live music with Flatland Drive performing bluegrass, the Lockerman Middle School Jazz Band, a variety of food, displays and activities including the Phillips Wharf Environmental Center Fish Mobile, the MD Dept of Natural Resources Scales and Tales, and the Paddle Poker awards presentation, all on the beautiful Choptank River.
On-site registration and check in for paddlers will begin at 8:00 am at the Boat Launch in Greensboro followed by the launch which will begin at 10:00 am. Shuttle buses will be available in the morning to take paddlers from the parking area near the finish in West Denton back up to the start in Greensboro.
