MD Senior Medicare Patrol & SHIP / Want to help your Community? Join the Senior Medicare patrol volunteer team. Your talents and skills are needed! The Maryland SMP is a federally funded program that provides free education, counseling and assistance to people with Medicare/Medicaid , their families and caregivers.
The Senior Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) meets one of the most universal needs of Medicare/ Medicaid beneficiaries, including those under 65 years of age – understand their health insurance benefits, bill and rights.
This program is funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Federal Medicare Agency and the State of Maryland. SHIP’s counseling services are confidential and free of charge. Ask about SHIPs volunteer program.
